Presenting.. German reproduction child doll head marked K*R 117 n , and commonly known as Mein Liebling, originally made by the Firm of Simon and Halbig for Kämmer and Reinhardt, circa 1912. In this case, the "n" refers to "naughty" as the eyes are side-glancing giving her a mischievous look... the original doll had "flirty eyes" that is they moved from side to side, but this reproduction head has fixed side-glancing eyes.
It is quite possible this is the very last one of this head Emily will make.
Painted in 2010, this is a very fine example of this precious doll and has not been offered for sale before now.
Poured in white porcelain and with many layers of China paint meticulously applied and firings in between each layer. The skin tone is pale with very rosy cheeks as is characteristic of the German dolls.
